Interior Villa Doors

The Villa is one of our most loved styles of character property. Dating back to Victorian days, there are many styles of villa found all over New Zealand.

From the late 1800s, as towns grew and developed, demand increased for properties with more rooms than the original pioneer houses. The villa became the preferred house style right up until World War I, when the bungalow style began to have a strong influence.

Early villas were smaller and simpler in design, but over time they developed greater complexity as homeowners became increasingly affluent and wanted more from their living spaces.

Single doors

The solid timber, panelled Victorian door is the classic villa interior door. There are several variations making it suitable for a wide range of applications from cupboard doors to feature interior French doors.

Whilst there are several standard-sized doors, many doors are made in custom sizes. We can advise on proportions and panel sizes to ensure your door looks good in your home.

In addition to paint-quality doors, we are happy to make doors from timbers such as cedar or rimu so they can be stained. We are also happy to advise on the choice of timber to be used.
